Easy Way To Treat Your Cold And Flu At Home

Most common health issues of winter-like cold, fever, nasal congestion are very much annoying and can spoil the festive season. Here are some easy tips and remedies to protect and cure all these problems.

Ginger Tea

Boil a small amount of ginger in your morning tea, it helps to alleviate arthritis and muscle aches. Traditionally, ginger tea is used to heal stomach problems and preventing nausea.

We eat more and feel lazy to exercise in the cold which reduces our metabolism and digestion problems become a common problem. Preferring ginger tea improves digestion and absorption of food.

Honey

Honey is rich in antibacterial properties. Normally, people prefer to drink a glass of hot water mixed with a spoon full of honey in the morning for fitness and glowing skin. In addition to these benefits, drinking honey in tea with lemon can heal sore throat pain.

In case children suffering from cold should be given 10 grams of honey at bedtime can protect from health issues of the winter season.

Garlic

Garlic adds to a spicy taste in cooked food and preferred by most in daily cooking. It contains antimicrobial properties, as it contains allicin as a compound in its composition. The benefit of adding it to your daily food is it removes severity of cold symptoms.

Vitamin C rich fruits

Citric fruits like oranges, limes, grapes are a good source of vitamin C.  Adding a few drops of fresh lemon to hot black tea with honey provide quick relief to the cold and severe nasal problem.

Although these drinks may not remove your sickness completely, they can help you get the vitamin C that your immune system needs at this time. Receiving up a good amount of vitamin C can relieve upper respiratory tract infections and other illnesses.

Chicken Soup

Having a bowl of Chicken soup is effective in reducing the symptoms of upper respiratory problems. In addition, it is also a good source of vitamin B, it boosts up immunity and helps in better digestion.

Humidity

Dryness is yet another problem we deal with in the winter season. The dry environment also adds on to respiration problems. Increasing humidity in the home reduces the number of health problems and reduces exposure to flu-causing viruses.

Use a humidifier in your bedroom and make sure to change water regularly and clean it up, avoiding fungal infections of water.
