Chopta chandrashila trek
The Chopta Chandrashila Trek is one of the most captivating and accessible treks in Uttarakhand, offering trekkers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush meadows, and serene surroundings. Located in the Garhwal Himalayas, this trek is a perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure, and spirituality. The trek leads to Chandrashila Peak, situated at an altitude of 13,000 feet, which offers panoramic views of some of the highest and most famous peaks in the region, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath, and Neelkanth.
The journey to Chopta begins from Rishikesh or Haridwar, and from there, trekkers make their way to the small village of Chopta, which serves as the base camp for the trek. The trek is often referred to as "Mini Switzerland" due to its stunning landscapes that are similar to the Swiss Alps. As you ascend, you'll walk through dense forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron, which offer a refreshing and peaceful environment. The trail also passes through vast meadows that come alive with wildflowers in the summer and are blanketed in snow during the winter months.
